A new rpm called ulsc05-1.0.6-1.noarch.rpm is available to help with node configuration for SC05. This is a big change in that we removed the bbcp and Neterion binariers and made it a noarch version instead of having separate i686 and x86_64 flavors.
NOTE: if you have a version of ulsc05 older than 1.0.4 already installed do the following steps:
NOTE: Before installing you must put on perl-ApMon_perl-2.0.9-1.noarch.rpm.
The ulsc05/s2io/bbcp RPMS are here:
You should install the s2io rpm if you have Neterion 10GE nic. Everyone should install the bbcp rpm AFTER they install/upgrade their ulsc05 rpm.
The ulsc05 rpm will install the following:
The node_info.pl script is added to /var/spool/cron/root to run every 5 minutes. Its output files go to /usr/local. It runs as root so it can extract all the needed info. It also reports to MonALISA via ApMon (which must be installed from RPM FIRST, see above RPM link).
There is also a README installed at:
/usr/share/doc/ulsc05-1.0.5/README-ulsc05
Let me know if you have questions or problems. The RPMS will be accessible off the UltraLight web site http://www.ultralight.org, select Workgroups->Network and then the link referring to Supercomputing preparations.
NOTE: You need to configure the net-snmp after installation. There is an easy to use utilility called 'snmpconf' you can use or just edit the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file by hand. Make sure to add the 'ultralight' RO community to your config. Here is an example snmpd.conf file you can start from.
